My favorite time of the year is right around the corner, the fourth of July! I love the fireworks, the barbecue parties and of course the fun americana clothes!…. and I mean how can you resist sparklers?

Over the years, I’ve accumulated quite the collection of americana in my closet, but I love mixing it up with new items every year. My favorite, super easy look this year is Old Navy’s Star Print Dress. The chambray material makes it perfect for summer and I love the halter silhouette and added pockets. It’s adorable! I am also in love with this Tie Dye Crop Top and Denim Cut-offs. It’s the perfect fourth of July weekend uniform for spending the day out in the sun. And to keep it fun and casual, I think any of the outfits would look great with these amazing Red High Top Converse Sneakers, especially the White Overalls! Hey glamouritas! Now that summer has (unofficially) begun, it’s time to break out those white pants… and don’t stop there! Some of the hottest looks for summer are head-to-toe white and this all white trend is easy to pull off!

The absolute best thing about this trend is I’m sure you already have the perfect pieces sitting in your closet. Spring is in full swing, I mean just look at those blooms! I paired all my favorite spring trends together for today’s look. Bright colors, eyelet and distressed denim! I’ve been wearing these pieces on repeat this spring and I think they will seamlessly carry me into summer!

Modern Pieces to Update your Living Room

Living in San Francisco, I’ve learned to appreciate minimalism in home décor. Since apartments are so compact in the city, it’s important be selective in your furnishings. I personally love to find pieces with dual purposes. It’s great not only to get the most bang for your buck, but also to keep your apartment from getting too cluttered.

Black & White- the perfect pair

Black & White- it’s simple, chic and everywhere this season! This color combo is both classic and trendy at the same time. Wanna know the best part? I’m sure you can find this trend hiding in your closet already!

There are tons of ways to interpret this trend, colorblocking, graphic prints, solids, stripes, etc., each looking just as stylish as the last one. I think my favorite part of this trend is the individuality it offers. I know that seems counterintuitive since it follows pretty strict color code, but you can still put your own spin on it! While roaming the streets this weekend I saw so many patriotic outfits. Independence Day is a great excuse to show off your favorite red, white and blue outfits. I love all the stars, stripes and flag pieces, but for a dressier look I opted for this simple white organza skirt and paired it back to an American classic, a Levi’s denim vest! Also, I’ve been looking for an excuse to wear these amazing blue printed wedges I scored from Hautelook! What better excuse than this festive holiday?

I bought these flag shorts from Target last year, but I am seeing this idea at more and more retailers this year (including the Forever 21 shorts posted below!). Since I thought these shorts would be a disposable purchase, I shopped around to make sure I got a good deal. But, I have been pleasantly surprised with how much use I’ve gotten out of them! Between the Fourth of July, the World Cup and the Indy 500 (yes I’m from Indianapolis!), they’ve done their fair share of celebrating!

I have to admit, I’m not normally a huge fan of graffiti, but I love this City by the Bay wall near our apartment. It’s lively, colorful and encompasses all the joy San Francisco has to offer! Can you believe the Fourth of July is just one week away? Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays! This is partly because I love barbecues, s’mores and fireworks and partly because it’s usually coupled with my birthday celebration. This year I am especially excited for the long weekend because my parents will be visiting me all the way from Indiana! I have been busy filling their itinerary with all the “can’t miss” tourist activities in San Francisco and couldn’t help planning my outfits for the holiday weekend as well!
