Cool Off in the Culotte Trend
Culottes seem to be sprinkling the outfits on my instagram feed and the pages of my favorite magazines lately. You know what that means right? The culotte trend has officially gone mainstream!
Culottes are quickly populating the racks of my favorite (affordable!) stores and I’m here to tell you… You need a pair for fall! Some of you might be thinking…. are they pants? is it a skirt? Well that’s my favorite thing about culottes, the versatility! They come in all sorts of fabrics, prints and colors.
Going casual? Perfect, they are loose, comfortable and can be paired with a tee and denim jacket. Or check out these Madewell culotte jeans. These were made for a fall day playing in the leaves.
Or maybe you have a wedding to go to? Instead of going the traditional dress route, try a culotte jumpsuit on for size. I picked out a few polished, strapless jumpsuits below that would look amazing with a statement necklace and heels. Swim Trends for Your Summer on a Budget
Is your closet stocked with 2015’s latest swim trends? The official start to summer is less than a week away and it’s time to get your closet in poolside shape!
This year’s swim trends are so fun! There’s a ton of monokinis for those of you wanting a little more coverage, lots of colorblocking for the sporty girls, scallops and crochet for the girly girls and stripes and prints for the bold girls out there. As you can tell from my top picks featured below, I am really digging monokinis and one pieces. My absolute favorites are the Pink Scalloped Swimsuit and the Striped Swimsuit, which are a bargain at only $40 each!
At the start of each swim season, I like to buy one new swimsuit and maybe a new bikini top or bottom. I love to mix and match my bikinis. By buying just one new piece, I can pair it with some of my solid, polka dot or even printed bikinis. Bikini mix and match is so popular these days that almost anything goes! Summer Embroidery Trend | 2015
Summer fashion can be so fun! People seem to take themselves less seriously and wear bright colors, fun prints, cute tassels & poms and of course summer embroidery! I’ve noticed myself incorporating a lot of embroidery into my looks lately so I decided to do a round-up of my favorite budget friendly embroidered items to kick off your weekend!
My absolute favorites are the Lace-Up Sandals, the Geometric Tote, the Chambray Shift Dress and of course the Black Jumpsuit. The chambray shift dress is so fun and effortless and would look amazing with some of summer’s hottest shoes… the Lace-Up Gladiator Sandal! And the jumpsuit is so versatile! It’s the ideal piece to take you from day to night this summer. The silhouette and fabrication are simple making it perfect for daytime lounging, but it could look great with heels out on the town as well!

A Walk on the Wild Side- Flamingo Trend
Flamingos make me smile. They always have and always will! That’s why I am thrilled that all my childhood obsession is now a little less dorky and can fall into one of summer’s most playful trends, the tropical flamingo trend!
Lately I’ve been lusting over kate spade’s newest collection featuring “the rare birds of summer”. As always, kate spade finds a way to put a playful twist on her summer collection and these flamingos are almost too much for me to resist! Some of my favorite bags from her new arrivals are shown below. Beyond handbags, there are amazing wallets, phone cases, makeup bags, tees, dresses, etc., all featuring my favorite pink bird!
Although amazing, the price tags are a little high on these handbags considering they are extremely trendy and seasonal. But this collection did inspire me to pull together some amazing flamingo items ranging from jewelry, swim, tops, shoes, tech accessories and more (all with a more reasonable price tag)! Target is never one to disappoint with their collaboration partners and their latest choice, Lilly Pulitzer, is no exception. This limited edition collection launches April 19th and includes 250 pieces, ranging from clothing, accessories and shoes for both women (including plus size!) and girls, as well as home decor, outdoor accessories and beach travel essentials! What more could a girl want? The 15 exclusive collaboration prints are bright, playful and true to the Lilly Pulitzer brand esthetic.

Barbie’s blonde little head seems to be popping up everywhere in the fashion world and she sure has moved up fast on the fashion totem pole. Sightings have spanned from Forever 21’s Barbie Collection all the way to Moschino’s Spring 2015 Runway Show, which was inspired by Barbie herself. Forever 21’s items fit in nearly everyone’s budget, while Moschino’s line is something most can only dream of hanging in their closet.
But if you are one of the lucky few who love Moschino’s fun aesthetic and can actually afford it, I have good news! There’s no longer a need to wait until Spring 2015 to grab your favorite items from the collection! The Track Pant Trend
To be honest, I have been hesitant to jump on the track pant trend this year. But since it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere for fall, I think it’s about time I start embracing it! To be fair, part of my hesitation may stem from making a living off of the sale of denim, but I also think this look is tricky to style. I’ve seen track pants styled on the street and they sometimes end up looking sloppy, like pajamas. I think it is key to pair these pants back to feminine, formal pieces. I love the idea of styling these pants with heels (as seen in some of the pictures below), a feminine blouse and layered with a blazer. Add in details like scallops, bows, etc and you get the ultimate glam look for fall.
