Fall Layering Piece: The Quilted Vest

I’ve been looking for a budget friendly vest for awhile now and finally stumbled upon this quilted one from Old Navy. Although it’s thin, this vest is the perfect fall layering piece. I love the olive color, but you have to be careful how you style it so you don’t start looking like a lumberjack!

That’s why I chose to pair this vest with some über-feminine pieces. By styling olive with soft blush, it immediately softens the look up. I also layered it with a delicate sweater, my scallop clutch and some gold accessories which immediately brings up the sophistication level. What’s your favorite fall layering piece? Capes are the hottest way to update your wardrobe this season, and the fall runway shows agree! Many designers featured capes in their fall collections, and this trend comes in various forms! Slip-On Looks for Less

Living in downtown San Francisco, I do a ton of walking throughout the city. Whether it’s going to and from work, grocery shopping or even just walking down to the park, I rack up the miles! This kind of daily activity obviously calls for comfortable shoes, but you will never see me walking around the city in tennis shoes…. unless I’m at the gym and even then it’s a toss up.

That being said, I’m a huge fan of the fashion meets fitness trend that is becoming more and more popular (check out the Track Pant Trend!). And as I’ve mentioned before I am a HUGE fan of slip-ons, specifically these amazing Topshop Silp-ons I’ve been rocking all year. But I thought it was about time I spice up my slip-on collection with a new style or two. Moschino for Nordstrom

Barbie’s blonde little head seems to be popping up everywhere in the fashion world and she sure has moved up fast on the fashion totem pole. Sightings have spanned from Forever 21’s Barbie Collection all the way to Moschino’s S pring 2015 Runway Show, which was inspired by Barbie herself. Forever 21’s items fit in nearly everyone’s budget, while Moschino’s line is something most can only dream of hanging in their closet.

But if you are one of the lucky few who love Moschino’s fun aesthetic and can actually afford it, I have good news! There’s no longer a need to wait until Spring 2015 to grab your favorite items from the collection! Moschino has partnered with Nordstrom to release a limited edition capsule including the Printed Headband, Clutch, Backpack and Crossbody Bag, Mirror iPhone Case and Biker Jacket Bag, all straight from the runway! The Layered Look

I came across these below shirttail sweaters at J. Crew and fell in love. At first, I thought these sweaters were styled with a chiffon top layered under it. After close examination, I noticed it’s actually a 2 for 1 deal! Who knew faux layering could look so chic? These layered styles are fun, but I hate spending $100+ on a sweater. Luckily, I was able to find a few similar styles, some for less than half the price!

Mad for Plaid

As fall rolls in, leaves start turning color and plaid starts to dot the shelves of retailers. When I think of plaid, I usually think of a plain flannel button down, but plaid isn’t just for lumberjacks anymore. There are tons of edgy and feminine ways to wear plaid this fall. The Track Pant Trend

To be honest, I have been hesitant to jump on the track pant trend this year. But since it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere for fall, I think it’s about time I start embracing it! To be fair, part of my hesitation may stem from making a living off of the sale of denim, but I also think this look is tricky to style. I’ve seen track pants styled on the street and they sometimes end up looking sloppy, like pajamas. I think it is key to pair these pants back to feminine, formal pieces. I love the idea of styling these pants with heels (as seen in some of the pictures below), a feminine blouse and layered with a blazer. Add in details like scallops, bows, etc and you get the ultimate glam look for fall.

The Statement Necklace

I recently got this beautiful color mix necklace for my birthday and I’m in love! It is definitely a statement piece and makes an impact on any outfit. The color-mixing gives it a ton of versatility, making it easy to pair back to almost anything. Today I chose to pair the necklace back to neutral colors to let the necklace shine on it’s own. Lastly, I showcased this fun necklace with a high pony to keep the look casual.

The Boyfriend Jean

Last week I finally found a pair of boyfriend jeans that work for me. I spotted these 501’s with the perfect amount of destruction I was looking for and had to have them. After a quick cuff and throwing on some heels, I’m out the door.

I love this outfit because it’s simple and effortless. These jeans can be dressed up or dressed down. For dinner with my husband, I decided to dress them up with heels and a leather jacket. This leather moto jacket is a recent find from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale- they sold out, but I found a similar one at Macy’s. Shop the full look below!

Christian Louboutin Nail Polish

Being a shoe lover for most of my life, I have always been infatuated with Christian Louboutin’s red-soled heels. There is something about that luxurious red sole that just calls my name! A pair of Louboutins are a girl’s best friend and the perfect pump! They are classic, iconic, fun and always make a statement as you walk away!

Now, Louboutin is taking the perfect shade of red from the bottom of their heels and literally bottling it up! Christian Louboutin has finally decided to enter the beauty world and is paving his way with the release of his Rouge Louboutin Nail Colour. This nail polish isn’t an ordinary nail polish, it’s a work of art!

Let’s start with the price. It’s the most expensive nail polish I’ve seen, retailing at $50 a bottle! The bottle’s cap is an 8-inch tall spike, replicating the height of the beautifully unrealistic Ballerina Ultima shoe pictured above. Painting with the thin, elongated cap is reminiscent of painting with a paint brush. With all this going on, this lavish bottle is not a nail polish you throw into your kaboodle and hide under your sink. This ombre bottle is meant to be décor for your bathroom or vanity. It’s made to leave an impact and it does just that!

As of today, only the Rouge Louboutin shade is available, but they have decided to come out with three different color families of shades, the Pops and Nudes and the Noirs, all available August 31st.

Christian Louboutin came up with his red sole while working on an early prototype and thought something was missing. He grabbed his assistant’s red nail polish and painted the sole of the heel on a whim! With that, the signature red sole was born!
