Rompers and Picnics at the Beach

Crashing waves, rompers and champagne… now that’s what I’m talking about! Before our trip to Europe, my husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary at Crissy Beach in San Francisco. One of our favorite ways to experience our city is packing a yummy picnic and enjoying the sunshine.

I wore this adorable eyelet romper (previously featured here!) for our casual day at the beach and paired it with my favorite spring accessories- Leopard Sandals, a dutch braid and a perfectly packed picnic basket! Shine & Wine

This past weekend my husband and I drove up north into wine country. We were itching to get out of the city and take advantage of the nice weather, so what better place to go to than Healdsburg, CA? Don’t get me wrong, we love Napa and Sonoma, but our favorite spot of all is Healdsburg! This small town is packed full of cute shops, delicious restaurants and most importantly, amazing wineries! What more could a girl ask for?

A lot of the wineries in Healdsburg have a rustic, casual feel to them. They are much more laid back than the mansions you see sprinkled about Napa. The experience is all about the wine and relaxing. In my opinion there is no better way to spend a Sunday than lounging on a patio sipping wines made from the grapes just a few feet away.

As we were exploring the grounds we came across this old blue truck. Although it’s a chevy, it reminded me of my dad’s old blue ford truck we had growing up so I couldn’t resist taking a few pictures with it. It was a ton of fun and brought back some great memories! Flowers & Fringe

The weather in San Francisco was unbeatable this weekend so my husband and I took advantage of the sunshine and went on a stroll through Golden Gate Park. For those of you who don’t know, Golden Gate Park is even bigger than Central Park so we spent hours there and barely made a dent on the map.

We spent a lot of our time in the The Conservatory of Flowers (pictured below) and the Botanical Gardens. As you can see, the place was covered with bright, blooming flowers… I felt right at home in my floral maxi! The park trails took us from hiking up wooden steps, strolling around the lake, to inside a museum. It’s tough to find an outfit that can fit the bill for all that so I stuck to this casual light layered look. It has a boho feel that keeps it casual and pairing it with sandals keeps it comfy. Spring Shoe Trends | 2015

I’m back! Sorry for my unexpected hiatus! I’ve been under the weather and traveling for the past few weeks and I’m finally back home and healthy (almost)!

Anyways, today is all about spring shoe trends. We are well into February and it’s about this time of year that I start to get antsy for spring! I am dying to go get a fresh pedicure and prance around town in some new, fun, spring forward shoes!

This year I’m gravitating toward metallics, bright prints and detailed neutrals. What are my absolute must haves for spring?

Espadrilles- go for an easy neutral pair or a wild printed pair! (or both!!)
Embellished Sandals- these glitter and rhinestone sandals from Target are completely necessary!
Fun Heels- either iridescent or fringed, there’s no going wrong here!

Valentino Rockstud | Look for Less

There’s one pair of heels that will always be on my wishlist, that’s the Valentino Rockstud Pumps! There’s two reasons for that… 1- these pumps are amazing and will always be in style and 2- they will stay on my wishlist because they are WAY out of my price range!

Valentino makes several variations of the Rockstud- kitten heels, T-strap, flats and many more! Each is amazing in it’s own way, but they run almost $1,000 each! Since I’m not going to be able to afford these anytime soon, I’ve been scouring the internet for a Rockstud look for less. Luckily I’ve found a few great alternatives!

Fall Flats | Oxford Chic

I am fully embracing the flat trend this fall. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my heels, but some mornings it’s just a little easier to walk to work in flats.

One of my favorite flat trends right now is taken right from the men’s department, lace-up oxfords! But these flats are anything but manly- pastel, leopard, polka dots and sparkles are just a few ways to add a feminine touch to oxfords. I think the metallic pairs are a ton of fun, I snagged these Naya Tahlia Metallic Oxfords from Hautelook a few months ago and have been getting a ton of milage out of them, check them out in my Mint Tweed post!

The Track Pant Trend

To be honest, I have been hesitant to jump on the track pant trend this year. But since it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere for fall, I think it’s about time I start embracing it! To be fair, part of my hesitation may stem from making a living off of the sale of denim, but I also think this look is tricky to style. I’ve seen track pants styled on the street and they sometimes end up looking sloppy, like pajamas. I think it is key to pair these pants back to feminine, formal pieces. I love the idea of styling these pants with heels (as seen in some of the pictures below), a feminine blouse and layered with a blazer. Add in details like scallops, bows, etc and you get the ultimate glam look for fall.

Leopard and Leather

As I referenced in my Black & White post last week, I love the clean and simple combination of black and white this season. Instead of opting for my typical take on this trend of colorblock or stripes, I decided to translate it into a print- more specifically a leopard print!

I love keeping this trend monochromatic, but sometimes the occasion calls for a pop of color! For a little whimsy, I paired this rocker look with some fun mint accessories. It’s a great way to keep studded, faux-leather pieces from looking too biker. This look is perfect for any night out; it’s the ideal mix of dressing up and dressing down, both casual and chic!
