Forever Blue

For a while now, I’ve been lusting over this ASOS trapeze dress, but haven’t been able to justify buying it. It’s not necessarily expensive ($50), but it’s a little impractical for San Francisco. Then I found this similar style at Forever 21 for just $22. Just like the ASOS style, it has a caged neckline and is a fabulous bright blue color. Who cares if it’s practical if it’s only $22?

Since I can’t leave my apartment without at least one layer, I sported this amazing floral bomber from Forever 21. Notice a theme here? With this whole outfit being bought from Forever 21 and the shoes from Payless, it can all be purchased for under $70! See below for links.

Chiffon & Chambray

I’ve been living in maxi skirts/dresses this season. They are so versatile and can easily take you from daytime into night with a change of an accessory or two. I recently bought this chiffon maxi skirt from Forever 21 for only $12.80! I absolutely love the light pink color and how it catches in the wind! To keep this look from going too rustic, I paired it back to my favorite blinged-out accessories, creating a shabby chic vibe!

To keep this skirt looking casual and cool in the daytime, I wore this adorable horseshoe printed chambray button up from Banana Republic. Instead of my usual half-tuck, I knotted it at the waistline to keep it tailored and girly.

Casual Monday

Today I’m keeping it casual. Layers, sneakers and bold jewelry are usual suspects in my weekend wardrobe. In San Francisco, I always make sure to dress in layers. You never know where the day will take you and the weather changes drastically from one neighborhood to the next.

Also, sneakers are a must when climbing the hills of San Francisco. I’ve expressed my love for these particular slip-ons in the posts Pop of Mint and Studs & Crochet. They are a great go-to shoe to have in your closet and they go with everything!

When running errands, basics are a must. I love starting with this easy knit tee/skirt combo, throwing on a chambray top and mixing it up with my favorite accessories of the moment. All American Twirl

Hi all! I hope you had an amazing holiday weekend! Fourth of July is for spending time with family, enjoying the outdoors, eating great food and watching fireworks, of course! My wonderful weekend included all of these All American things.

While roaming the streets this weekend I saw so many patriotic outfits. Independence Day is a great excuse to show off your favorite red, white and blue outfits. I love all the stars, stripes and flag pieces, but for a dressier look I opted for this simple white organza skirt and paired it back to an American classic, a Levi’s denim vest! Also, I’ve been looking for an excuse to wear these amazing blue printed wedges I scored from Hautelook! What better excuse than this festive holiday?

{ Happy Fourth of July }

Happy Fourth of July everyone…almost! I hope you are lucky like me and able to take off early for the holiday weekend. Today I’m giving you a sneak peek of how I will be showing off my patriotism tomorrow!

I bought these flag shorts from Target last year, but I am seeing this idea at more and more retailers this year (including the Forever 21 shorts posted below!). Since I thought these shorts would be a disposable purchase, I shopped around to make sure I got a good deal. But, I have been pleasantly surprised with how much use I’ve gotten out of them! Between the Fourth of July, the World Cup and the Indy 500 (yes I’m from Indianapolis!), they’ve done their fair share of celebrating!

Party in the USA

Can you believe the Fourth of July is just one week away? Independence Day is one of my favorite holidays! This is partly because I love barbecues, s’mores and fireworks and partly because it’s usually coupled with my birthday celebration. This year I am especially excited for the long weekend because my parents will be visiting me all the way from Indiana! I have been busy filling their itinerary with all the “can’t miss” tourist activities in San Francisco and couldn’t help planning my outfits for the holiday weekend as well! Black, White and Bright

I have always been a big fan of print mixing. It adds a little fun to an otherwise ordinary outfit. A great way to dip your feet into the trend is to start with a common print like stripes, dots or animal print and pair it with a bold printed piece, like this floral skirt. I chose to pair this loud skirt with this black and white striped tank- these days I wear stripes so much that I almost consider it a solid!

I paired this look back to my favorite black sandals. These Payless black shooties were such a great buy; they are both comfortable and super affordable! Originally, I had fallen in love with these Steve Madden NONSTP Sandals, but wasn’t feeling the $99.95 price point. Then, I stumbled upon these Payless shoes for a quarter of the price and was immediately sold! They are so versatile, I get a ton of use out of them!

Ferry Building Farmers Market

This past Saturday, my husband and I made a trip to the Ferry Building Farmers Market. I love strolling along the embarcadero when it’s nice out- it’s so relaxing and the views are incredible! We were in search of some fresh fruit, but this farmers market has much more than that! The options were endless for produce, pasta, flowers and more. Check out the amazing hydrangeas I found below!

This weekend was a little chillier in San Francisco, so I opted for my go-to Levi’s 501 Selvedge Jeans and a chambray top. I also broke out my pink TOMS wedges this weekend. Because these TOMS are so cute, comfortable and polished, I chose them as my “dancing shoes” for our wedding reception. Now I love wearing these when I’m spending the day with my husband, it takes me back to how much fun we had dancing the night away! Do you have shoes that carry memories like these do? Summer Must Haves

Or is the beach calling your name? The first chance we get, my husband and I will be cruising up Highway 1 to Stinson Beach. It’s an incredible beach town where we escape the city to relax and catch some rays. Compiled below are some finds I’ve been lusting over for this year’s inevitable beach trips. I love the ease of this crepe mint cover-up, the bright high-waisted floral bikini and even the fun ice cream beach towel! Tired of flip-flops? Flowers and Vines

As I mentioned in Monday’s Red Wine and Red Rompers post, my husband and I had a great time in Healdsburg, CA this past weekend. This tiny town not only offered us great wine, but also gorgeous views! These snapshots were taken at Truett Hurst, a rustic winery with incredible landscaping and awesome grounds to explore.

On this windy day, I sported this chiffon floral maxi (an incredible deal I snagged from Forever 21!). I felt pretty fabulous as it caught in the gusts of wind as we walked around the winery. Since I knew we would be on our feet all day, I stayed practical and finished this look with my favorite rhinestone flats and this simple blush crossbody. It was a fresh, easy summer look that worked perfectly for a day spent relaxing outside.
