Let’s be Princesses!

What little girl didn’t want to be a Princess growing up? Disney Prinesses are magical! Maybe you wanted to be Cinderella, Ariel or Mulan? Maybe you wanted to be a different Princess every day of the week? Who could blame you! They are all amazing and it’s about time someone made a Princess collection so we can dress like one everyday of the week.

That’s where Kohl’s new Disney’s Cinderella Collection comes in! This collection is girly, whimsical and carefree. Check out how cute Lauren Conrad looks in her LC by Lauren Conrad Cinderella Collection!

I’ve been enchanted by Lauren Conrad’s spin on the Cinderella Collection. The Glass Slipper Sweater and the Tulle Skirt is one of my favorite looks and how adorable is that Organza Bow-Back Dress? After exploring her collection, I noticed Kohl’s Disney’s Cinderella Collection spans wider than just the LC by Lauren Conrad brand. The offering includes casual graphic tees, like the Tulip-Back Tank pictured below, and dressier pieces like the Rosette Strapless Dress. You can seriously dress like a Disney Princess for every occasion! My favorite part of the collection is they don’t scream “Princess”. These pieces give a subtle nod and a modern take on the Princess we all know and love, Cinderella. And if Cinderella isn’t the Princess you had your heart set on, you’re in luck! It sounds like Cinderella is the first Princess to get a Kohl’s collection, but not the last! We can expect the next launch in May. Mint Tweed

This past week, I decided to go for a more polished look with this mint green tweed jacket. I kept it easy by pairing it back with simple timeless pieces like a black tee and my selvedge Levi’s. My favorite part of the outfit is the Naya Tahlia Metallic Oxfords. I got a great deal on these from Hautelook! They are definite statement shoes and are actually super comfortable! Although I was going for a menswear inspired look, I wanted to spice it up with all these metallic accessories to give a fresh, feminine look.

Cool & Cozy

Fall in San Francisco is all about slowly transitioning yourself from summer into fall. Although September and October are technically fall months, we’ve had some of our warmest days of the year in these months! It doesn’t seem like Mother Nature is quite ready to embrace fall, but that doesn’t mean I’m not ready!

In this type of weather, I’ve learned the best way to embrace fall without breaking a sweat is to mix your fall wardrobe with summer pieces. That way I can wear my new sweater and booties from Old Navy that I’ve been dying to wear and not have a heat stroke! I chose to pair these with my go-to chiffon skirt I got this summer, but a pencil skirt, a midi skirt or even cut-offs would work too!

Game On!

With the World Series continuing into the weekend, I already know my next few nights will be jam-packed with Giants festivities. I love showing spirit during the games, but not at the expense of style. I think it’s important to dress up the traditional team apparel, especially when the games fall on weekend nights.

My advice for taking your team gear to the next level:

Pick one item with your team’s logo on it. I suggest hats, they are the easiest to dress up and down and can match back to a ton of things already in your closet! (You can’t go wrong with a baseball hat or a beanie- they are both on trend this fall!)
Choose some girly items to pair with your team gear. Find a dress, skirt or even a lace top to wear with it. Any feminine details that soften the look will immediately transform it into night!
Lastly, add some layers! Denim, leather, camo- any will work! You could even go further with the sporty look and wear a baseball or varsity jacket!

How to Stay Cozy and Still Feminine

Whether San Francisco weather feels like it or not, there’s no denying fall is in full swing when scrolling through my instagram feed of pumpkins and flannel.

When living in the Midwest, fall was always my favorite time of year. Nothing is more beautiful than when the leaves start turning color, apple & pumpkin desserts take over pinterest and we start running around in our coziest sweaters & boots. But to be honest, my coziest and comfiest sweaters are not necessarily the most glamorous things in my closet.

It can be hard to find sweaters that get you into the holiday spirit without sporting the hibernating polar bear look. That’s why I pulled together 9 beautiful sweaters (all under $50) that are not only fall appropriate, but completely feminine!

When shopping for cozy sweaters this season, keep these few tips in mind:

Look for feminine details– added details, like bows, hearts, dots, lace, etc. will all add a girly touch, even on oversized silhouettes.
Pair it back to girly pieces– have a graphic or basic sweater? Easy! Wear it with a full skirt, chiffon maxi, or anything to keep it soft and feminine.
Pay attention to shapes– I know sometimes you just want to rock a slouchy sweater and that’s totally fine, but make sure you pair it back with leggings or skinnies to keep the silhouette slimming.

I can hardly believe it, but Halloween is right around the corner! As you start to decorate for this spooooky holiday please remember, halloween decor doesn’t need to be pricey OR tacky!

Leopard and Leather

As I referenced in my Black & White post last week, I love the clean and simple combination of black and white this season. Instead of opting for my typical take on this trend of colorblock or stripes, I decided to translate it into a print- more specifically a leopard print!

I love keeping this trend monochromatic, but sometimes the occasion calls for a pop of color! For a little whimsy, I paired this rocker look with some fun mint accessories. It’s a great way to keep studded, faux-leather pieces from looking too biker. This look is perfect for any night out; it’s the ideal mix of dressing up and dressing down, both casual and chic!

To continue the trend of affordability from yesterday’s Forever Blue post, today’s focus is Looks for Less! See below for inexpensive alternatives to some of the hottest accessories out there right now!

Mansur Gavriel Bucket Bag ($495)- These handbags are hard to get your hands on! This particular style below is sold out until December! I not only LOVE this camello option below, but also the pink colorway here. You can also have fun and customize your Mansur Gavriel bag by mixing up the pop of color on the inside, how awesome is that?

Look for Less– Mango Contrast Bucket Bag (On Sale for $44.99) This bucket bag is a great way to get the look of the Mansur Gavriel Bucket Bag for one tenth of the cost! It has the same gathered drawstring and similar structured shape. It’s a great bag to take you from summer into fall!

Stuart Weitzman Nudist Sandals ($398)- These are offered in a variety of colors, I love both the black and red! They are both sexy and simple, pair them with a boyfriend jean and it’s perfection!

Valentino Rockstud Tote ($2,145)- Valentino’s Rockstud shoes and bags have ALWAYS enticed me, but the price is a little out of my budget (for the whole year)! That’s why I was so excited when I found a great look for less of this tote below.

Look for Less– Jaden Studded Tote Bag (On Sale for $55) This tote below gives the same rockstar, studded vibe of the Valentino option above, but in faux-leather. It’s a great way to save some money if you are looking for a new trendy bag for the season!

Chiffon & Chambray

I’ve been living in maxi skirts/dresses this season. They are so versatile and can easily take you from daytime into night with a change of an accessory or two. I recently bought this chiffon maxi skirt from Forever 21 for only $12.80! I absolutely love the light pink color and how it catches in the wind! To keep this look from going too rustic, I paired it back to my favorite blinged-out accessories, creating a shabby chic vibe!

To keep this skirt looking casual and cool in the daytime, I wore this adorable horseshoe printed chambray button up from Banana Republic. Instead of my usual half-tuck, I knotted it at the waistline to keep it tailored and girly.
