Spring Strolls in Notting Hill

Notting Hill 3

One of my favorite areas in London is the neighborhood we stayed in, Notting Hill. It’s an adorable, contemporary neighborhood where the streets are lined with beautiful Victorian homes, trendy restaurants, great shopping and of course the infamous Portobello Road Market!

We were lucky enough to stay in one of these magical Victorian homes in the heart of Notting Hill. It was relaxing to be able to leave the craziness of tourism in the city and come home to this charming community. It even curbed our homesickness and reminded us a bit of the painted ladies in San Francisco. I mean just look how cute these painted doors and tiled steps are, I couldn’t get enough!

One of our favorite things to do in London was exploring the city and finding new food markets. Little did we know, we were staying blocks away from one of London’s most infamous markets, Portobello Road Market. We taste-tested donuts, fudge and other deliciousness from every market we came across. Our favorite market of all ended up being the Borough Market near the London Bridge. Everything we tasted there was primo, we had to go twice because we couldn’t stop thinking about the donuts! I’m already planning my trip back to London, just for the donuts! Notting Hill 2

Valentine’s Day Home Must Haves

Valentine’s Day is one of the cheeriest holidays. When I was younger, Valentine’s Day was all about sending “warm fuzzies” to your classmates. What’s a warm fuzzy? It’s just that, a note that makes you feel warm and fuzzy when you read it! What’s better than that?

Valentine’s Day is a day all about love and letting people know how much they mean to you. I mean… candy, hearts, cupid, what’s not to love? Want to make this Valentine’s Day special? I have an amazing collection of Valentine’s Day home must haves below! My dream? Making Valentine’s Day treats in my heart apron using my heart measuring spoons and spatulas! Check them out below!

How to Stay Cozy and Still Feminine

Whether San Francisco weather feels like it or not, there’s no denying fall is in full swing when scrolling through my instagram feed of pumpkins and flannel.

When living in the Midwest, fall was always my favorite time of year. Nothing is more beautiful than when the leaves start turning color, apple & pumpkin desserts take over pinterest and we start running around in our coziest sweaters & boots. But to be honest, my coziest and comfiest sweaters are not necessarily the most glamorous things in my closet.

It can be hard to find sweaters that get you into the holiday spirit without sporting the hibernating polar bear look. That’s why I pulled together 9 beautiful sweaters (all under $50) that are not only fall appropriate, but completely feminine!

When shopping for cozy sweaters this season, keep these few tips in mind:

  1.  Look for feminine details– added details, like bows, hearts, dots, lace, etc. will all add a girly touch, even on oversized silhouettes.
  2. Pair it back to girly pieces– have a graphic or basic sweater? Easy! Wear it with a full skirt, chiffon maxi, or anything to keep it soft and feminine.
  3. Pay attention to shapes– I know sometimes you just want to rock a slouchy sweater and that’s totally fine, but make sure you pair it back with leggings or skinnies to keep the silhouette slimming.
  4. A little glam never hurt anyone– I added a few embellished options below, both rhinestone and sequins, because let’s be real… a little glam never hurt anyone.

City by the Bay

I have to admit, I’m not normally a huge fan of graffiti, but I love this City by the Bay wall near our apartment. It’s lively, colorful and encompasses all the joy San Francisco has to offer! After passing this wall every week, I finally felt compelled to feature it on my blog. And what better way to show off this vivid work of art than the white-hot trend that’s everywhere this season?

Head-to-toe white is a great look this summer! It’s such an easy outfit to pull together and looks effortlessly polished. I especially love my new laser cut flats from Target, they were a steal at only $17.48! What are your thoughts on the white-hot trend? Share your favorite pieces in the comments below!

Today I am rocking yet another color of these Topshop Slip-Ons. You may have seen my light pink pair from the Studs & Crochet post a couple of weeks ago. I ended up loving those so much I had to run back to Nordstrom and buy the black pair too! They are so versatile and comfortable that I find myself throwing them on all the time! And for only $35, you can’t beat them!

glamourita pop of mint crossbodyOne of my favorite colors right now is mint and it has been popping up everywhere over the past year! Since pastels are trending this season, I got this mint crossbody to add a pop of color to my neutral outfits. I can only expect that mint won’t be sticking around as the trendy color forever, so I opted for this Forever 21 option that was only $14.80! What a steal! Do you love the pastel trend this season? How are you mixing it into your wardrobe?

Power of Pink

Glamourtia- Power of Pink

Exploring San Francisco with my husband is one of my favorite weekend activities. When I know a lot of walking and hills are on the agenda, comfort is key! With this in mind, I chose the girl’s best friend, a maxi skirt. I love maxis. They can be dressed up or down and are a staple for any wardrobe. I especially love this one from Nordstrom with the side zipper. You can change the height of the zipper slit depending on your outfit.

When dressing comfy, I quickly pass up the heels and grab some flats. The key to looking put together when dressing comfortable is accessorizing! In this look I opted to glam it up with my white rhinestone handbag, rhinestone caged sandals and heart sunnies. This was a great ensemble to run around town in. What key looks do you explore your city in? What’s your key to dressing practical and comfortable and still looking fabulous?
