Spring Getaway Guide- Under $30

Although I no longer have an official spring break, my calendar is always packed with weekend getaways. Between my trips to the beach, wine country and Southern California, I’ve been packing for the sunshine a lot lately. And after all this practice, I’ve got it down to a science! That’s why I pulled together today’s spring getaway guide.

My spring getaway guide has a definite beach vibe- featuring tassels, fringe, lace and more! My vacation looks are always about staying casual and effortless. I believe you should be able to go comfortably from poolside to town without a major wardrobe change. And lucky for you my picks below help you do just that!

Packing for a trip is all about the staples. Bring a statement hat, sunglasses and a great cover-up and you are already half-way there! Now, just add a few swimsuits and your favorite shoes in a beach bag and you are good to go! (Make sure you check out my spring shoe trends post for more amazing deals on shoes!) As long as you stick to more neutral items, your outfitting will be a breeze no matter where you are.

Versatility is key, but my favorite part about this collection is the price tag! Each of these items can be found for under $30, can you believe it? I am obsessed with the tassel bracelets from gold and gray and the H&M beaded shorts, I can see myself wearing these with everything! Shop these items below and share your favorite spring getaway finds in the comments!

Flowers & Fringe

The weather in San Francisco was unbeatable this weekend so my husband and I took advantage of the sunshine and went on a stroll through Golden Gate Park. For those of you who don’t know, Golden Gate Park is even bigger than Central Park so we spent hours there and barely made a dent on the map.

We spent a lot of our time in the The Conservatory of Flowers (pictured below) and the Botanical Gardens. As you can see, the place was covered with bright, blooming flowers… I felt right at home in my floral maxi! The park trails took us from hiking up wooden steps, strolling around the lake, to inside a museum. It’s tough to find an outfit that can fit the bill for all that so I stuck to this casual light layered look. It has a boho feel that keeps it casual and pairing it with sandals keeps it comfy. Shop the look at the bottom of the post!

Spring Shoe Trends | 2015

I’m back! Sorry for my unexpected hiatus! I’ve been under the weather and traveling for the past few weeks and I’m finally back home and healthy (almost)!

Anyways, today is all about spring shoe trends. We are well into February and it’s about this time of year that I start to get antsy for spring! I am dying to go get a fresh pedicure and prance around town in some new, fun, spring forward shoes!

This year I’m gravitating toward metallics, bright prints and detailed neutrals. What are my absolute must haves for spring?

  1. Espadrilles- go for an easy neutral pair or a wild printed pair! (or both!!)
  2. Embellished Sandals- these glitter and rhinestone sandals from Target are completely necessary!
  3. Fun Heels- either iridescent or fringed, there’s no going wrong here!

Take a look at what I’m shopping for below and leave a comment with your must have shoe choices!

New Year’s Eve Party Dresses Under $100 | 2015

Now that I have all my Christmas shopping wrapped up, It’s time for me to focus on New Year’s Eve. New Year’s Eve is a magical holiday where we spend the night sipping champagne and contemplating new year’s resolutions. Every year it’s a great opportunity to hit the reset button and start the next year off fresh with some new goals.

Even if you haven’t decided what your new year’s resolutions are yet, you need to pick a dress. There are so many fun trends floating around this season that it’s hard to pick just one, but I’ve pulled together some of my favorite party dresses for 2015. A few of my favorites include the sequin ombre dressthe glitter jumpsuit and feather hem dress. Check out my picks below and share your favorites with me in the comments.

Falling for Fringe

I used to associate fringe with summer, but those days are over. I no longer reserve fringe for coachella and days at the beach. Fringe is now for all seasons and all occasions, I even dress it up for special occasions!

My favorite take on the trend for fall is leather fringe. I am obsessed with the Forever 21 jacket and the Nikki Rich Fringe Top below. The leather adds a dressy, warm, fall element to the trend. And how fun is that pop of yellow fringed clutch? It’s definitely a statement piece and is the perfect accessory for that little black dress hanging in your closet.

Hoe do you feel about fringe for fall? Do you have a go-to fringe piece in your closet? Share in the comments below!

Summer in San Francisco

As August comes to an end, summer in San Francisco begins! Fall is a magical time for us in San Francisco- it’s when temperatures start to rise and tourist season starts to wind down, the sun starts to shine a little brighter and the streets are a little less crowded. That’s why this weekend we were focused on enjoying our wonderful city!

I wore my favorite summer shorts, my white Levi 501’s. They scream summer with the multi colored neon dots embroidered on the front. With these temperatures, it’s key to wear your shorts and tanks, but I never leave home without a jacket! I chose my favorite chambray top from Levi’s, the perfect piece to complete any outfit and shield me from the wind.

{ Happy Fourth of July }

Happy Fourth of July everyone…almost! I hope you are lucky like me and able to take off early for the holiday weekend. Today I’m giving you a sneak peek of how I will be showing off my patriotism tomorrow!

I bought these flag shorts from Target last year, but I am seeing this idea at more and more retailers this year (including the Forever 21 shorts posted below!). Since I thought these shorts would be a disposable purchase, I shopped around to make sure I got a good deal. But, I have been pleasantly surprised with how much use I’ve gotten out of them! Between the Fourth of July, the World Cup and the Indy 500 (yes I’m from Indianapolis!), they’ve done their fair share of celebrating!

Tassels & Poms

Friday is here! And to brighten your weekend I wanted to throw something fun your way. And what’s more fun than tassels and poms? This trend is a great way to infuse playfulness into your summer wardrobe. It adds an interesting edge to any item; it jazzes up bags, makes shorts especially flirty and gives jewelry flare! I love ALL these items, but the pieces I’m drawn to most are the ASOS neon-geo print mini skirt, the Topshop leather tassel clutch and the ASOS pink pom pom bikini! Looking for a great buy? Whether you choose to start small with jewelry and clutches or go all out with the totes or shorts, this is a great look for a weekend getaway, a day at the park or to just hang with the girls. Fringe by the Bay

Glamourita Denim Vest by the Bay

Flowers are blooming, birds are chirping and the sun is shining! San Francisco weather has been unusually warm and I have been taking advantage of it. Any chance my husband and I get, we take a trip to a park or beach. In this case we walked up to the pier and spent the day at Ghiradelli Square. We love to bring a book, some snacks and hang out and enjoy the weather. Often times we will take the scenic route back and stop for dessert along the way. It’s a great, relaxing way to spend the day outside together.

On this beautiful day by the bay, I chose to go for the boho chic look. I paired this vintage shift dress back to my go-to Levi’s denim vest. I brought the whole look together with this super fun ALDO Fringed Crossbody and beaded sandals. This outfit was the perfect laid-back look to spend the day lounging beachside. Do you have plans to go to the beach soon? If so, what’s on your packing list?
