Black Friday Deals | 2014

If you’re anything like me, you like to have a game plan going into black friday. My main priority is finding out what deal everyone is offering and how long the deal lasts. Next, I scout out what I want to buy before the deals start, that way I can shop around for the best price. Finally, I like to write out a list of people I plan on buying presents for and potential gift ideas for them. That way they are fresh in your mind when you are browsing the sales!

In honor of black friday, today’s post is dedicated to the deals I think are worth checking out this black friday!

How to Stay Cozy and Still Feminine

Whether San Francisco weather feels like it or not, there’s no denying fall is in full swing when scrolling through my instagram feed of pumpkins and flannel.

When living in the Midwest, fall was always my favorite time of year. Nothing is more beautiful than when the leaves start turning color, apple & pumpkin desserts take over pinterest and we start running around in our coziest sweaters & boots. But to be honest, my coziest and comfiest sweaters are not necessarily the most glamorous things in my closet.

It can be hard to find sweaters that get you into the holiday spirit without sporting the hibernating polar bear look. That’s why I pulled together 9 beautiful sweaters (all under $50) that are not only fall appropriate, but completely feminine!

When shopping for cozy sweaters this season, keep these few tips in mind:

  1.  Look for feminine details– added details, like bows, hearts, dots, lace, etc. will all add a girly touch, even on oversized silhouettes.
  2. Pair it back to girly pieces– have a graphic or basic sweater? Easy! Wear it with a full skirt, chiffon maxi, or anything to keep it soft and feminine.
  3. Pay attention to shapes– I know sometimes you just want to rock a slouchy sweater and that’s totally fine, but make sure you pair it back with leggings or skinnies to keep the silhouette slimming.
  4. A little glam never hurt anyone– I added a few embellished options below, both rhinestone and sequins, because let’s be real… a little glam never hurt anyone.

Stay Cozy and Feminine

Forever 21 Heart Print Sweater ($22.90) / Express Heathered Rhinestone Sleeve Sweater (On Sale for $35.94) / LOFT Embellished 3/4 Sleeve Sweater (On Sale for $32.50) / Kohl’s LC Lauren Conrad Bow Sweater (On Sale for $29.99) / Forever 21 Watercolor Back Sweater ($17.80) / Express Sequin Front Sweater (On Sale for $47.94) / LOFT Embellished Sweatshirt Tee (On Sale for $25) / Kohl’s LC Lauren Conrad Faux-Leather Heart Eyelash Sweater (On Sale for $39.99) / Forever 21 Marled Eyelash-Knit Sweater ($19.80)

Carry the Cropped Trend into Fall with Cropped Sweaters

Have you been sporting the crop tee trend all summer long? Well you’re in luck! It looks like you will be able to wear this belly-baring trend all the way through fall! The cropped sweater trend is fun, easy and casual. You can pair the cropped trend with textured knits and a slouchy fit and it becomes much more conservative than the cropped tee look. I’m not saying you will be wearing this look to church on Sunday, but it’s a great way to embrace the cropped trend without exposing too much skin. I pulled together some great deals below making it easy to sport the trend this fall without breaking the bank!

Cropped Sweaters

Express Blue Cable Sweater (On Sale for $19.99) / Forever 21 Waffle Knit Sweater ($17.80) / SheInside Striped Tee (On Sale for $9.90) / MANGO Textured Sweater (On Sale for $24.99) / Forever 21 Cozy Sweater ($22.80) / Nasty Gal Blue Crop Sweater ($78) / Target Blue Marled Crop Sweater ($24.99) / Modern Citizen Striped Cropped Sweater ($59) / Forever 21 Grey Marled Sweater (On Sale for $9.99)

The Track Pant Trend

To be honest, I have been hesitant to jump on the track pant trend this year. But since it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere for fall, I think it’s about time I start embracing it! To be fair, part of my hesitation may stem from making a living off of the sale of denim, but I also think this look is tricky to style. I’ve seen track pants styled on the street and they sometimes end up looking sloppy, like pajamas. I think it is key to pair these pants back to feminine, formal pieces. I love the idea of styling these pants with heels (as seen in some of the pictures below), a feminine blouse and layered with a blazer. Add in details like scallops, bows, etc and you get the ultimate glam look for fall.

Have you been wearing the track pant trend this year? How do you style them?

BTS- Back To Skorts

Skorts used to be one of my go-to looks when I was young- they were a staple for any young girl in the 90’s. Skorts pleased your parent by looking like a skirt, but you still able to keep up with the boys without flashing your princess panties. To put it simply, they are the clothing version of a mullet- business in the front, party in the back!

But, skorts are no longer just for the 90’s and tennis matches, they are coming back! If you haven’t noticed, skorts are everywhere this summer and I don’t see them going anywhere for fall. There are tons of ways to wear them and I’m sharing a few of my favorites below!

Printed: wear this look with a simple button up or tee

ASOS Mono Print Skort ($58.04) / Topshop Lemon Skort ($68) / Express Animal Skort ($59.90) / Nastygal Gingham Skort (On Sale for $19.60)

Textured– To keep it casual, wear these with a graphic tee- both a bold graphic or an aged concert tee works!

White Topshop Textured Skort ($68) / Orange Topshop Quilted Skort ($68) / Free People Faux Leather Skort (On Sale for $70.80) / ASOS Pink Petal Skort ($48.37) / ASOS Yellow Crepe Skort (On Sale for $30.96)

Last, but not least, Florals– pair with your favorite moto jacket for an edgy/girly look

ASOS White Floral Skort ($48.37) / ASOS Black Floral Petal Skort ($29) / ASOS Floral Bordered Skort ($58.04)
